The Claims Adjuster coordinates and facilitates the reporting of claims related to on the job injury and illness of the employee, while promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The Claims Adjuster ensures compliance with all federal and state agencies in relation to safety and well being of the employees. This role will be fulfilled while demonstrating the company values of Honesty, Fairness, and Respect. The Claims Adjuster will analyze claim loss and cost reserve data and monitor claims processing. This position is also responsible for providing status reports on trends and recommending cost-effective strategies to reduce exposure, settlement proposals, coverage options, trial results, and serious injury reviews on a regular basis.
Responsibilities Include:
Coordinates and Facilitates Claim Process by acting as a liaison between company and the Insurance carrier/third party administrator (TPA), medical provider, broker, production and the injured employee.
Claims management - Reviews claims to determine proper claim handling, appropriate reserving, reasonable settlement options and timely closing. Keeps up to date on regulatory requirements and ensures that company is in compliance with Workers' compensation laws and regulations and monitors return to work arrangements.
Medical treatment - assists employees injured on the job in obtaining medical treatment at the designated medical clinic and facilitates the treatment process.
Return to Work - Assists in managing the companies return to work program by working with production and ensuring that accommodations are made for injured workers released to modified duty by the treating physician.
Investigations - Reviews all investigation reports and conducts secondary workers compensation investigations as needed.
Training - Conduct training at field location on injury and incident investigation and prevention. Ensure timely investigation of accidents and recommended preventative measure to ensure risk of recurrence is minimized or eliminated.
Reporting - Coordinates the communication and delivery of the monthly loss run and dashboard by conducting monthly claims reviews with Production Management Staff. Reviews monthly loss runs to analyze data and looks for trends, to assist the loss control specialist and training department to coordinate targeted safety training. Maintains required injury and illness records.
Provides field support to Ranch Managers for their safety related training activities. Working with the corporate trainer, publishes daily and monthly safety topics

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
A good understanding of specified functional area.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Self-motivation and capacity to work under limited supervision.
Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
Soft skills - to develop within ranch personnel the ethic to work safely and to maintain a safe workplace environment.
ARM designation highly desired.
Must have a valid California Drivers License.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for Cal/OSHA.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Agricultural experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
