The Regional Safety Manager will serve as an integral member of the management team, promoting cross- functional collaboration, and customer communication.
This leader is critical for ongoing success and continued rapid growth.
Reporting into the VP of Safety and Risk Management, the primary role is to provide support, leadership for safety activities which includes hands on participation, evaluating safety programs in the state of California and sometimes Arizona, ability to make decisions that impact the safety and health of employees, and work closely with the regional management team.
To be successful as a Regional Safety Manager, you should be able to lead and manage people, ensure daily safety operations run smoothly and foster a culture of respect, empowerment, and accountability throughout the organization.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Investigate accidents and establish incident investigation teams to determine the root causes, corrective actions and implementation of countermeasures to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents.
Perform safety assessments and prepare documented safety reports on findings.
Partner with the VP of Safety to establish effective safety metrics, policies, procedures, initiatives and safe work practices that will ensure compliance with local and state regulatory agencies and CALOSHA, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.
Participate in team and customer meetings to support safety activities at the corporate and site levels.
Participate in OSHA visits, and conferences and act in a professional matter when handling these situations.
Performs other duties as assigned by VP of Safety.
PREFERED
Qualifications:
2 - 3 years of Safety and Health work experience required Fully bilingual in Spanish- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with team Four or Two Year Degree in Occupational Safety and Health preferred but not required Knowledge in CALOSHA state regulations Ability to speak Bilingual (English and Spanish) language preferred Valid CAL drivers license with minor moving violations (failing to stop at stop sign or red light, failing to keep within the lines, tailgating following another vehicle too closely) Ability and willingness to travel as required, estimated at 50% in the state of California.
Occasional travel to the state of Arizona.
Willing to work 3rd shift to perform job site safety responsilitites.
Must have experience leading safety programs across multiple locations.
